Single-Shot Antique Arms and Replicas. 

+ Sharps 1863 Conversion [Antq] - (Sn C214xx) - 50/70 with a 22" barrel. Shows about 98% original blue on the barrel, with about 95%+ bright blue case colors on the action and lever. Barrel band & butt plate show somewhat more subdued. Bright fire blue on all screws, except for the hammer screw, which is gray. Takedown lever shows 99%. Saddle ring & bar are mainly silver. Front & rear sights are complete & correct. Wood shows strong throughout, grain still shows raised with good D. F. C. cartouche and other crisp inspector's marks. Butt plate is notched for a patch box. Good bore, screws, & mechanically sound. $6,500

+ Sharps Conversion [Antq] - (Sn C437xx) - 40/70 with a 2.5" - 30" octagon barrel. Marked "Old Reliable", Sharps Rifle Co. Bridgeport, Conn. Metal was cleaned to bright at one time, but has begun to tone back to gray. Wood has had a light coat of linseed oil applied. Minor loss at schnabel, with a hairline crack about 1" long & 1/2" hairline crack extending from front of action forward into the left rear of forearm. Has a minor chip at the rear top, left corner of action & wrist. Comes with dies & brass. Good bore, screws, & mechanically sound. $5,295

+ U. S. Springfield Trapdoor 1884 SRC [Antq] - (Sn 3440xx) - 45/70 with a 22" bbl. Shows mainly brown, gray, & silver. Has had a Buffington rear sight added. Stock is dated 1882 - circled P is still visible. Good bore, screws, & mechanically sound. Has a 1873 breechblock. $1,495

+ U. S. Springfield 1884 Carbine [Antq] - (Sn 3791xx) - 45/70 with a 22" bbl. Barrel shows brown & light pitting forward of barrel band on barrel. Smoother toward the rear of barrel. Action & lock show smooth, with blue showing through frosty rust; shows about the same. Lock shows smooth & mottled gray & plum. Guard & trigger plate show plum, with scattered pitting. Butt plate shows some blue. Saddle ring & bar are intact & show like the rest of the gun. Cleaning rod is missing, from butt trap. Rear sight has been replaced with earlier rifle sight. Stock shows normal usage marks; cartouches are obliterated, but the "P" is still visible behind the tang. Bore is bad. Action is sound & screws are good. This is a good-looking old gun. $1,495

Colt Single Action Army. 

+ U. S. Colt SAA [Antq] - (Sn 964xx) - .45 Colt with a 5.5" bbl. This Artillery Model shows about 80-85% original blue on the barrel & about 50-60% blue on the ejector housing. Cylinder retains about 90% original blue. Back & front straps are gray, top of back strap has some bright blue intact, as does the flats on the guard & the flats on either side of upper strap. Has some bright blue on & around the front of the guard. The frame is mainly gray & brown, with traces of case color - hammer shows about the same. Retains all correct D.F.C. & R.A.C. marks on metal & grips. Grips have a few dents & dings with an initial scratched on the left bottom panel. Good bore, screws, & mechanically sound. + Colt SAA - 3rd. Gen. - (Sn SA602xx) - .44/40, 7.5" bbl., blue & case colored, black hard rubber grips, with box & manual. Shows about 98% on the back strap, guard, frame, & screws. The cylinder shows a dragline & other light scratches, but overall, it shows about 95-98%. The original box shows tattered, but still in one piece. The Styrofoam insert is sound. + Smith & Wesson New Model #3 [Antq] - (Sn 349xx) - .44 Russian caliber with a 6.5" bbl., blue, checkered Walnut stocks, target rear sight & checkered trigger. Shows about 95-97% original blue, with most of the wear showing on thinned back strap. Shows about 95-97% case color on hammer, and about 40% on guard. Casehardened rear sight blade has been bent backward a few degrees. Muzzle shows as having been cleaned up. It appears the muzzle crown was damaged at some point, and the muzzle was re-polished. Brass bead at back of front sight blade is missing. Overall, a great example of this model & includes a factory letter. $5,250

+ Colt 1851 Navy - 3rd Model [Antq] - 1853 Vintage - (Sn 2097x) - .36 caliber with 7.5" bbl. Shows gray, smooth salt & pepper on all iron surfaces, soft patina on brass, replaced wedge, old repair on nose of hammer. Period folk engraved, with arrow motif on guard & bottom of back strap. Grips show no varnish & are somewhat rounded at front corners. Mechanically sound. $1,550

Pre-War SAA - (Sn 277xx) - .45 Colt, 4.75" bbl., black powder frame, with narrow groove, thin front sight blade, bull's eye ejector, Bisley hammer, Long flute cylinder, special wire wheel, Armory blue, & black hard rubber grips. + U. S. F. A. - Matched Pair of Sheriff's Model - 1 satin nickel, 1 matte blue - .45 Colt, 3" bbls. These are serial number 39 of a limited edition of 50 that were made for Lew Horton Distributors during their brief exclusive distributor program with U.S.F.A. They are black powder frame, with black, 2-piece hard rubber grips. They were part of a series of special issue guns made for Horton, but by the time they were delivered, the relationship between the two companies had gone south. An interesting pair. + Smith & Wesson Model 1-1/2 Top Break [Antq] - (Sn 13860) - .32 Smith & Wesson with a 3" bbl., nickel, hard rubber grips. Shows about 90% overall original nickel finish. Case colors have faded to about 20%. Blued parts show about 90%+. Grips are crisp & free of chips or cracks. Good bore, screws, & mechanically sound. $350


Lever Action.  

+ J. P. Gemmer Spencer Conversion - (Sn None Visible) - 56/52 Rim Fire with 30" octagon barrel. Classic full conversion with full under rib; two plain pipes for wiping rod; S. Hawken-type iron nose cap & entry pipe; double-keyed walnut forearm; crescent butt plate on walnut butt stock with beaver tail cheek piece; single set trigger; long bar adjustable rear sight; German silver front sight. Wiping rod was missing when I got the rifle, so we copied one of the original rods from one of my other Gemmers for a replacement. These are extremely rare rifles. There is, to my knowledge, only about 12-15 of these rifles still in existence. This one would rank in the top five, as far as configuration & condition go. Good bore, screws, & mechanically sound. + Winchester 1892 S.R.C. - (Sn 977xxx) - 25/20 with 20" bbl. Overall, shows about 90% original blue. Sights are correct and complete - retains saddle ring. Wood has been checkered, but retains about 97 or 98% original finish on the non-checkered portions. Good bore, screws, & mechanically sound. A sharp looking little carbine. *CONSIGNED*. + Marlin 1894 - Short Rifle [C&R] - (Sn 4155xx) - .44/40, 20" round bbl., blue with casehardened receiver. Shows about 75-80% original blue on barrel & mag tube, about 90%+ original case color. The wood shows lots of original varnish, with numerous hunting & handling marks. The nose cap & but plate show only about 50-60% thinned blue. Both the front & rear sights are original. Good bore, with mostly good screws, & mechanically sound. This old rifle was in the same family since it was new & used for deer hunting until the early 1970's. Item #L5656. $1,995

+ Winchester 1892 S.R.C. - (Sn 9145xx) - .32/20, 20" bbl. Shows 85% or better. Original barrel & mag blue. The receiver shows gray & brown with very light salt & pepper scattered freckling. The loading gate show 95%, trigger & lever show 60% thinning. The butt plate & lever show mainly brown & gray. Both front & rear sights are correct & intact, as is the saddle ring. + Custom Winchester 94AE Trapper - (Sn 65713xx) - 44/40, 16" bbl. with box. Shows as new - unfired. The barrel was changed from its original configuration (.44 magnum) to a 44/40 by Diamond Jim Buchanan's Custom Sales & Service, who also offers custom gunsmithing. The receiver & lever were casehardened at the same time, but it is unclear whether the same gunsmith did both. There is a saddle ring affixed, which appears to be factory. The stocks are standard factory, with a factory hard rubber butt plate. Overall, it shows quite nicely. Good bore, screws, & mechanically sound. *CONSIGNED*. Item #L4908. $1,295

+ Winchester 94 John Wayne Commemorative [C&R] - (Sn JW983x) - .32/40,, 18" bbl., blue, gray, walnut with box, sleeve, & papers. Shows unfired, in box, but because of extended storage in hostile conditions, there is a couple of spots of rust & discoloration on the saddle ring, receiver, & lever plate. The wood shows perfectly. + Browning Model 53 - (Sn 0032xNM3F7) - 32/20 with a 24" bbl. This rifle has been customized. It has had a full length mag tube installed, and Marble's tang sight added. The metal finish has not been altered, but the original rear sight has been removed, and a slot filler installed. Wood finish is also unaltered. Overall, shows about 98%. Checkered walnut butt stock has better than average figure throughout. Good bore, screws, & mechanically sound. *CONSIGNED*. Item #L4595. $1,150

+ Winchester 1895 Take Down - (Sn 0035xMT95K) - 30/06, 24" bbl., blue, casehardened, & checkered walnut. Used, new in box, with papers, etc. These were a limited run for Davidson's a few years ago. They were about $1,450 new. Item #L5507. $1,095

Shows about 85%+ original blue with most of the wear showing on the left breech end of the barrel, the left side of the action body & the floor plate of the action body. It retains the original red, Bradley Bead front sight & center bead. The wood shows nearly all of its original finish, with good, sharp checkering, even on the butt. Hartliep. The engraving is high quality , in the basic style of a Grade V factory engraving, with 2 gold ducks, inlaid on the right side of the receiver & 2 gold quail on the left side. There is a dog's head engraved on the trigger guard & 2 quail engraved on the bottom of the action. The original owners initials are on the rear of the trigger guard. The barrels are numbered to the gun, with the numerals 1 & 2 under the serial numbers. The wood is standard field grade - plain straight grain. Both sets of barrels show about 98% blue. Wood shows about the same as the barrels, with just minor handling marks. L.O.P. is 14.25" over factory butt plate. The original Browning case, with some old Browning catalog pages, presumably to use as a rough guide for the engraving, are included in the original factory case.
